do you want to

Hello, hello! If you're reading this, it means that you just might be interested in modeling for me (yay!), and that makes me smile from ear to ear. Modeling sessions are so much fun, and a win/win!

Whether I hand-selected you, you are answering a public model call, or I approached you at the store (yes, I've done that many times,... no shame over here!), please read the "Frequently Asked Questions" below for more information on how model sessions work. If you are on board with what you see, please fill out the questionnaire you'll find a link to below, and we will go from there!

let's talk about modeling!

here's the scoop...

Whether we just met, or you've known me for a little while, I'd like to briefly introduce myself! My name is Jeanna Hayes (pronounced like "Gina" if you are curious!), and I have been a professional photographer for 16 years. I was born and raised in Las Vegas and now live in Kansas City with my family of 7, who are my life. I love salty food over sweet, and think music from the 70's is THE JAM (does anyone still use that expression?).

I have three businesses under my photography "umbrella." I offer portraits for individuals and families, shoot commercial work for various brands and companies, and I also have an education branch where I teach online courses for photographers. Occasionally I need models for any of those three categories, and that's where you come in!

Hi, I'm Jeanna!

Who am I, exactly?

first, a little introduction...

My dream, aim, and motivation to every single aspect of this retreat is to feed you creatively, awaken your inspiration, and completely spoil you! You give so much to others: your family and friends, community, and your business. It's time to nurture YOU. (And psst... the best news is that this can't help but benefit your craft and, by extension, your business as well!).

This retreat will provide a creative theme each day, which  will be infused in activities, styled shoots, and meals. We will get to express our artistry by shooting side-by-side,  improve our craft through education, and enjoy amazing food (and even better company!).

I am a visual artist, which means my work needs to be attractive and consistent for my business to thrive. Occasionally I need models for different projects I have. It could be for the purpose of pushing myself creatively, it could be because I need models for my commercial work with clients, or perhaps I'm in need of example sessions to film for my photography students. I will let you know what I have up my sleeve for you!

I'll connect with you over what I have in mind! If it is for my education and/or portrait brand, I will potentially be sharing the photos on my website, social media, and/or educational platforms such as courses I teach and the like.

If the shoot is for my commercial work, the images will be shared with my client's community, website, print products, and their social media channels.

(If I've asked you to model and you have a few more questions, please send me an email here and I can clarify some things and/or give you more specifics for your session...

However if you'd rather not and you think modeling isn't the best fit for you, I completely understand and wish you all the best!)

It will depend on what I'm using the photos for, but for the most part you just need to show up on time, be open to my artistic direction (including styling, outfits, and prompts), and have fun!

One thing I will need for sure is for all models over the age of 18 to sign a standard "model release," which means that I have your permission to share the images of you/your family/your kiddos that I take. I can answer any questions you may have about that!

Here's the coolest news ever... you get gorgeous photos for free! The value of my typical hour-long session is $1850 on average.
I don't always need models, so this is a great opportunity for those who love artistic imagery!

P.S. If a commercial shoot is what I'm needing you for, we will discuss compensation based on the job.

This depends on a few factors. Sometimes I provide the clothing for models to use, other times I do need you to procure them while I work with you. When I use models for a project, I do need full creative control over outfits, location, time of day, etc. (which is most often my very best work!), and in return you get gorgeous photos for free, so usually it's a win/win!

We can discuss your specific session and see what you are comfortable with!

I completely understand the wish for other loved ones of yours to be included!  However, I will be needing only those I ask to model. For example, if my model call asks for one parent and one child, I kindly ask that this is respected and requests aren't made for other members of the family to join in the shoot.

Thank you so much for honoring this! (Also, you can always book a session and include as many people as you'd like!)

"where will the photos be shared?"

"why do you need models?"
